Happy New Year! Looking Forward to New Atlatl Adventures!

Happy New Year everyone! We are looking forward to new atlatl adventures and meeting more of you in 2013! We enjoy the opportunities Thunderbird Atlatl gives us to travel and meet new people.

In the next coming weeks, we will be putting together a new paper catalog and working on starting a monthly email newsletter and updates through an email program. If we have you on our email list, you will receive an invitation to subscribe to the newsletter. If you aren’t interested, just let us know and we can remove you from the list.

We often find people confusing us with William Robert Perkins of Montana who calls himself “Atlatl Bob”. Thunderbird Atlatl’s atlatl maker is Robert Spalding Berg aka Bob Berg and not to be confused with “Atlatl Bob”. It’s an easy mistake to make but feel we have to make the distinction every once in awhile.

Another project we hope to complete this month is a series of videos on You Tube showing how to put our kits together. We are looking forward to having a more active internet presence. atlatlfevercover

Time to Order Your Atlatl Set For Holiday Giving! Gift Certificates Available!

The Thunderbird Atlatl shop is busy keeping up with inventory and orders. Christmas orders have already started coming in and we are busy getting out orders while maintaining good inventory.

It’s better to order earlier than later to help both the shipping department and our atlatl maker! Give us a call if you are looking for something specific and we’ll see if we can help you.

Besides holiday shopping, we are also told that we should let everyone know that an atlatl and dart set is perfect for end of the world/doomsday predictions set for December 21 by the Mayan Calendar. Regardless of what happens December 21, you will be ready for something-hopefully the new year – 2013!

We will be adding gift certificates to our catalog later today. We can send gift certificates via email or snailmail – your choice.

We’re Ready for your Christmas Orders! Yes, Everything is Made In the USA!

If you are thinking about an atlatl set for yourself or someone else for Christmas, give us a call or order online! We are increasing our inventory daily and are keeping plenty of atlatls in stock.

A customer asked recently where are atlatls and darts were made. All of our atlatls and darts are made in Candor, New York, in our shop. We control the process from purchasing raw materials to the finished project. The photos below shows Ash logs arriving in September to be made into atlatls and darts. We pride ourselves in using the complete log for the finest darts and atlatls. Even the wood that isn’t suitable for atlatls and darts is used for various projects including wood flooring and trims. Of course, the remainder goes to the woodstove – we do live in the Northeast and winter is coming!
