Thunderbird Atlatl’s Bob Berg and a host of other instructors and enthusiasts will be in Ithaca from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4-H Acres, 418 Lower Creek Road, Ithaca, New York 14850 for PRIMITIVE PURSUITS DAY Saturday, May 26.
The event is sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County.
There will be wild food, music & fun. Enjoy old time music by local bands while wilderness skills instructors from across Central New York offer hands-on wilderness survival and outdoor living skills workshops and activities for kids and adults. Activities scheduled throughout the day include flint-knapping, friction fire, guided tree ID walks, tracking walks, basket-making, games, and much more! Events go on RAIN or SHINE! There is a covered space in case of wet weather. Music by Sunny Weather, Steve Selin and Friends, Curt Osgood & Friends, Luke Gustafson, Uncle Joe & the Rose Bud Ramblers! It couldn’t have been a better weekend for the celebration of the new Lake Champlain Bridge May 19 to 20. Thunderbird Atlatl was happy to be part of the Festivities.

Thunderbird Atlatl will be celebrating the opening of the Lake Champlain bridge connecting Crown Point, NY to Vergennes, Vt. this weekend. The bridge reopened last fall after over two years of construction!
We will be set up on the Vermont side at the Chimney Point Historical Site museum, right next to the bridge as you enter Vermont from New York.
There are events on both sides of the bridge and on the bridge this weekend. Stop by and visit!
Hesse Auction Galleries in Otego, New York will auction Prehistoric & Historic Arts of the Americas on Thursday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m.
The auction will feature Copper Tools from Shawano Co. Wisconsin; Taino Artifacts from the Caribbean; 17th C. Trade Silver; African Terracotta Objects and NYS Prehistoric Artifacts collected by Steve Petrovsky.
The copper tools are from the collection of John Jefferson of Waverly, NY, a friend and coworker who works with Thunderbird Atlatl.
