Visit Thunderbird Atlatl in Vermont for the World Atlatl Association meeting and workshops, contests!

Thunderbird Atlatl is looking forward to visiting Chimney Point Historic site for our annual workshop and contest September 19 and 20. This year is a special year with the World Atlatl Association holding its annual meeting from Thursday, September 18 to Sunday, September 21. There will be International Standard Accuracy Contests (ISACs) held every day.

Stop by and visit Thunderbird Atlatl at Chimney Point. Workshop on Friday, September 19.

The main event will be Saturday, September 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food and snacks available for purchase, while they last.
Admission: COMPETITORS: $12 * VISITORS: $6 ADULT, FREE UNDER 15

On Friday, sign up for workshop to build an atlatl and darts. Call the museum at (802) 759-2412 for more information. The cost of the workshop is $70.
On Saturday, participate in or watch this annual atlatl championship testing skills in accuracy and distance. The sport of using the atlatl to throw darts is based on the ancient hunting technique. Newcomers to experts welcome. Flint-knapping demonstrations and lessons throughout the day. Pre-registration for competitors required. Call (802) 759-2412 to register. Come to Vermont this weekend. Atlatl workshop, Contests Chimney Point Historic Site

Thunderbird Atlatl will be in Vermont this weekend September 22 to 23 at the Chimney Point Historic site. The workshop will be all day on Friday, Sept. 22. Atlatl contests will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23. Chimney Point is located in Addison, Vermont.

Starting New Year at Thunderbird Atlatl- Planning Events

The Thunderbird Atlatl staff is planning events for 2019. We plan to be at events in Florida in February. We will be posting the information for the shows. They will be at Silver Rivers State Park in Silver Springs, Florida and Ochlockonee River State Park in Sopchoppy, Florida.

Looking forward, we plan to be at the Pennsic War again in August; the Stonetool Show at Letchworth State Park in August and the Flint Ridge Knapin in Ohio over Labor Day. We will also be in Vermont in September at the Chimney Point State Historic Site annual event in Vergennes, Vt. There will be International Standard Accuracy Contests at these events.
