Pennsic Wars – Next on the Agenda!
Thunderbird Atlatl will be heading to World of Aztec Atlatl Battles and more from August 1 to 12 as we attend the Pennsic Wars in Pennsylvania.
This annual event, sponsored by the SCA, brings hundreds of people together for two to three weeks every years. The Cooper’s Lake Campgrounds turns into a medieval world with folks from every walk of life including a few Royals here and there.
Over the years, Bob Berg of Thunderbird Atlatl has taught hundreds of people about the atlatl and now every year we look forward to meeting old friends and making new friends. The Aztec Atlatl Battle has become a popular game for many atlatlists. Who will win this year? Wait and see!

Delaware River Sojurn

Thunderbird Atlatl is back from Virginia and we will be joining participants of the Delaware River Sojurn Sunday evening.
In Virginia, we visited the Virginia Renaissance Faire for its last weekend. The archery set up was impressive. Mistress Sue and crew run a very informative archery program for the general public. She was kind enough to let Bob Berg of Thunderbird Atlatl demonstrate the atlatl and give a couple of programs during our visit.
Our next stop was to Roanoke, Virginia where we were the guests of the Bureau of Land Management for the Outdoor Writers Association Conference. We we able to, with fantastic help from the BLM staff, let dozens of people try the atlatl – many for the first time. We participated in the conference’s “Shooting Day”.
Sunday evening, Atlatl Bob Berg will give a presentation on the atlatl and other primitive technologies at Minisink Ford, New York, along the Delaware River. We will be guests of the National Park Service for this program. The program begins at 8 p.m. and the public is invited. For further information, please contact us at 1-800-836-4520 or 607-743-4379.
