The spring, summer and fall months were hectic for the Thunderbird Atlatl shop but also provided a lot of great memories and a chance to visit many friends.
November brings a little break from shows on weekends and gives us a chance to get ready for the holiday season. We will be working on updating our website, planning more videos, designing a new catalog and brochures. We don’t mail out a lot of newsletters but you can sign up for our newsletters and you will receive them when they go out. We will try to develop a newsletter schedule in the coming year. Please keep sending us your comments either on Facebook, through our webpage or by regular mail or telephone, we appreciate your input. Bob Berg fletches a dart at a workshop. Thunderbird Atlatl will be joining businesses, residents and various organizations throughout Candor, NY Saturday, Oct. 11, celebrating the Candor Fall Festival sponsored by the Candor Chamber of Commerce.
Along with the annual Fall Festival Pumpkin Contest and ISACs on both Saturday and Sunday, there are lots of things to see throughout the community including the annual woodcarvers show and quilt show.
We will be at Side Hill Acres Goat Farm on Spencer Road, Candor. Side Hill Acres is located on Route 96, just inside the village limits as you head to Spencer, NY. Side Hill Acres will also have a number of vendors at their site and, of course, their delicious goat cheese and tours of the farm. There will also be wine tasting and a professional pumpkin carver on site. Stop by for a great day and pick up a brochure at Side Hill Acres or at many of the places located in Candor. See you there. Thunderbird Atlatl will be at two places this weekend, October 4 & 5. Stop by if you are in the area of the Second House Museum in Montauk, Long Island or Hammonasset State Park.
The Friends Of Hammonasset State Park will be hosting the Meigs Point Festival on Saturday and Sunday.
Great time at Chimney Point Historic Site in Addison, Vermont (on the shores of Lake Champlain. This weekend is our 19th year here.
It is always a great time. This year there was a special tribute to John and Bette Morris of Vermont. John and Bette were remembered for their giving natures, enthusiasm and strong support of the atlatl.
If you haven’t been to the Stone Tool Technology Show at Letchworth State Park, the 25th anniversary of this annual event is a great time to visit!
Flintknappers and Atlatlists from across the country will gather this weekend on the north end of beautiful Letchworth State Park (the Highbanks Recreation area) near Mt. Morris, NY. Letchworth also features a great weekend of atlatl contests, a Mountain Man encampment, and more. Camping is available.
There will be vendors will amazing crafts, good food, an auction, and great camaraderie. Stop by Thunderbird Atlatl’s booth near the atlatl range and visit. We will be offering atlatl and dart making workshops during the weekend.
