Happy Atlatl Season!

Atlatl Season Gearing Up! Atlatl Experiments Forming!

Spring is just around the corner and atlatl events can be found on the World Atlatl Association’s website under events. Check out the events and see if there is one near you!
A group of fellow atlatlists are setting up atlatl experiments on the Paleo Planet World Atlatl Association
site.http://paleoplanet69529.yuku.com/topic/24028

They are discussing ways of experimenting to test various atlatl theories. Don’t be surprised to find an experiment going on at an atlatl meet you’re attending! We will be doing atlatl experiments at the next Massachusetts Atlatl Days October 17th and 18th at Tapley Memorial Hall (Saturday) and Glen Magna Farms (Sunday) in Danvers, Massachusetts. The Danvers Historical Society is really looking forward to this event. We will be emphasizing experimental projects and education rather than competition although those who want to compete informally will have the facilities to do so.
If you are looking to add to your atlatl equipment or just starting new, give us a call at 800-836-4520 or contact@thunderbirdatlatl.com and we’ll work with you. Atlatls work well with camp and youth groups, we can help work out a package for your group.

Heading Into Spring!

Spring really is around the corner and it’s time to get out those atlatl sets for upcoming contests and events! If you don’t have a set, we can help you out with that too.

We’ve returned from our southern journeys and are looking forward to setting up the coming year program. It looks like we’ll be back in Maine, Vermont, Ohio, Pennsylvania and other states in the next few months. We will be posting a schedule shortly.

Our new line of cane darts will be available soon. We have more can in stock than ever before and can probably meet any of your requests. Give us a call at 1-800-836-4520.

Florida – Take Two!

Thunderbird Atlatl Bob Berg will be at the Stone Age and Primitive Arts Festival this weekend at the Ochlockonee River State Park.

The park is hosting the Second Annual Stone Age and Primitive Arts Festival Friday, February 6 to Sunday, February 8. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days.

Visitors will experience ‘hands-on’ learning, as experts demonstrate techniques that were used thousands of years ago in day to day life. Visitors will also see projectile point fashioning, also known as flint-knapping, the art of chipping stone into tools, bow and arrow construction, basket weaving, early pottery methods and much more. According to archeological research, Ochlockonee River’s rich history of human interacting with nature goes back 12,000 years
