The Kanakadea Atlatl Kit is designed to provide a kit for the popular "Y" atlatl. The kit is simple to put together and is shown completed in the photo above. You receive the wooden handle, the wooden "Y" and spur, leather for the "Y", sandpaper and beeswax to use as a finish in your kit. The kit can be put together with a little glue and sanding. We leave it to the atlatl kit makers to customize their atlatl as they see fit. While not as traditional as our popular Nanticoke kits, the Kanakadeas do offer an easy atlatl for the beginner to use. No fingers are needed to hold the dart with this type of atlatl. The "Y" rest was inspired by atlatls made by Ray Strischek and the late Terry Keefer. Many modern day atlatlists can be observed using these fingerless atlatls in competitions. This is a great choice of atlatls for any group or any age range.
